ASC students slayed the 2020 MA Thesis Award presented by the Polish Association for American Studies for the best thesis written in American Studies by students from all over Poland!
We are proud to announce that Julia Płaczkiewicz received the Second Prize for her thesis entitled “The (Im)Perfect Girlfriend: Origins, Politics, and Limitations of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl Trope in Contemporary American Cinema” written under the supervision of Dr. Marta Usiekniewicz, while Sanni Örn and Klaudia Kania working with Prof. Tomasz Basiuk and Prof. Paweł Frelik respectively were awarded honorable mentions.
