According to a regulation of the Minister of Health dated June 14, 2023, as of July 1, a state of epidemiological emergency will no longer be in effect in Poland.

This means that as of July 30, special measures for foreigners that extended the validity of D visas and residence permits that expired during the pandemy as well as the deadlines for applying for temporary residence permits will end.

Effects of the regulation:

1) those whose visas/stay cards expired during the COVID pandemic must apply for a residence permit before July 30, 2023;
2) Renewal of the obligation to apply for a residence permit no later than the last day of legal residence in Poland;
3) Increased number of applications at the Department of Foreigners’ Affairs and extended deadline for processing cases (accumulation of post-pandemic and current applications), meaning that it might take longer to process and issue residence permits.

Therefore, we remind you to take care of legalisation of your stay.

When it comes to legalization of your stay, you can count on the support of the Welcome Point team, who will explain the procedure, check the documents, and provide free consultations with a lawyer. You are welcome to contact Welcome Point at welcome.legalisation@uw.edu.pl or in person (from Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 16:30 at Main Campus and Ochota Campus, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 – 16:00 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences).
