According to a regulation of the Minister of Health dated June 14, 2023, as of July 1, a state of epidemiological emergency will no longer be in effect in Poland.

This means that as of July 30, special measures for foreigners that extended the validity of D visas and residence permits that expired during the pandemy as well as the deadlines for applying for temporary residence permits will end.

Effects of the regulation:

1) those whose visas/stay cards expired during the COVID pandemic must apply for a residence permit before July 30, 2023;
2) Renewal of the obligation to apply for a residence permit no later than the last day of legal residence in Poland;
3) Increased number of applications at the Department of Foreigners’ Affairs and extended deadline for processing cases (accumulation of post-pandemic and current applications), meaning that it might take longer to process and issue residence permits.

Therefore, we remind you to take care of legalisation of your stay.
