Niezmiernie miło jest mi zakomunikować, że w dniu 05.09.2022 rozpoczęliśmy nabór wniosków na dofinansowanie projektów skierowanych na promocję badań naukowych zrealizowanych na UW.

W konkursie mogą wziąć udział pracownicy zatrudnieni na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim oraz doktoranci Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, którzy w latach 2019-2021 prowadzili prace naukowe i uzyskali wyniki tych badań.  Mogą oni starać się o dofinansowanie promocji wyników swoich badań wśród odbiorców spoza grona naukowego – ogółu społeczeństwa interesującego się nauką, np. wśród młodzieży, rodziców, nauczycieli, organizacji pozarządowych lub decydentów.

Przyznana kwota, do 20 000 zł na projekt, może zostać wykorzystana na sfinansowanie wykładu, prezentacji lub warsztatów podczas których ogółowi społeczeństwa przekazane zostaną informacje o badaniach naukowych zrealizowanych na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim.

According to different sources, there are between 6,000 to 8,000 languages spoken in the world today. However, many academic fields tend to rely on English as a model language and do not question the generalizability of findings from studies done with English speakers. This talkwill illustrate how English is in some respects unusual and how focusing on it exclusively might provide a biased picture of language and the human mind.
